Morning Writings

The Quiet Room 1929, Sir George Clausen

This beautiful painting came through my inbox yesterday, from the clever people at Persephone.  If you subscribe to their daily email, 'The Persephone Post', a small and fascinating tidbit of knowledge is delivered - it could be a painting, an image, or a photograph of a literary phenomenon from last century.

But yesterday this one definitely caught my attention.  That morning light coming through the window, the bright flowers, the lady writing her thoughts, or perhaps a letter, on sheets of paper.

Thought you may like it too.

Sir George Clausen (1852-1944) The Quiet Room 1929. It’s at the Crawford Art Gallery in Cork.
